About the project
The homeowner pulled up carpet in the upper level of their home and discovered maple hardwood floors underneath. They wondered if the floors could be refinished and initially considered sanding and refinishing the floors themselves.
After taking a closer look, we found that while the maple floors were structurally sound, but the floors were coated in a heavy paste wax, which is extremely difficult to remove without professional equipment.
Because of the wax coating and the condition of the existing surface, a full refinish was required. The homeowner decided to hire New Glow due to the size and complexity of the project.
While the paste wax is difficult to remove, often times it preserves the hardwood well, so with a sand and refinish the floors looked really nice and were now ready for many more years of use.
