Our Team

Justin started New Glow Flooring with his Dad, a lifetime contractor, over a decade ago. Working alongside his talented father, Justin acquired the skills to become a skilled craftsman. Justin KNOWS hardwood floors and is passionate about them. When Justin is not restoring hardwood floors, he likes to mountain bike, telemark ski and talk about hardwood floors. #obsessed

Dylan has been in the flooring industry for six years. He brings some wicked install skills to New Glow. He is a hardworking flooring artiste - if we do say so ourselves. His attention to detail and friendly spirit makes him fun to work with, and customers love him too. Also, he named his dog “Carrot,” which is just cool.

Marissa is a behind-the-scenes force at New Glow. She is a creative but numbers-focused person. This unique skillset allows her to manage the books AND design our website. She understands New Glow’s commitment to excellent communication and helps support this effort from her desk - usually with a warm cup of chai in hand.

For over a decade, New Glow Flooring has provided flooring installation to Minneapolis and surrounding cities in Hennepin County. Whether you need hardwood floors installed in your dining room, hardwood floors laced in to your existing hardwood, or luxury vinyl planks (LVP) in your living room, we have you covered.

Our Advice
  • Install hardwood wherever possible in your home. It's worth the investment.
  • Solid, site-finished hardwood is our favorite. Engineered hardwood and prefinished hardwood are other hardwood flooring options.
  • Luxury vinyl planks (LVP) is an excellent option for areas in your home that are likely to get wet, i.e., bathrooms, laundry rooms, and some basements.

Refinishing hardwood floors is the solution for deep scratches, stains, or floors with an undesirable color. The refinishing process will completely remove the previous finish and a small layer of wood, exposing the natural hardwood and leaving you with a blank slate to add your desired stain color and finish. Depending on the project size, the process can take two to four days to complete.

Our Advice
  • Always consider refinishing your hardwood floors before tearing them out and putting in a new product.
  • If you don’t like the color of your existing hardwood floor, a refinish will allow you to change the color and modernize your floors.
  • Refinishing is a good option if you want your floors to look brand new.
  • Get your floors refinished every 10 to 20 years, depending on your level of maintenance and lifestyle.

Buff & Coat

A buff and coat is perfect for a floor that needs freshening up and a new, protective coating. The buff and coat process uses a buffer with a sanding screen to lightly sand the floor. This process will remove minor surface scratches and scuffs. It can also bring life back to high-traffic areas that have become discolored over time. This wood floor refinishing option is completed in one day and costs significantly less than a full refinish.

Our Advice
  • A buff and coat will prolong the life of your hardwood floors.
  • It is more cost-effective than refinishing and will extend the time between a full refinish.
  • Get your floors buff & coated every three to five years.

Heavy traffic and the build-up of dirt and residue can leave wood floors looking dull, tired, and lackluster. We use a uniquely effective deep-cleaning machine to restore wood floors to their natural beauty. Our method works deep down, leaving surfaces refreshed and so clean they are ready for a new layer of protection.

Our Advice
  • Get your floors deep cleaned once a year to prolong the life of your hardwood floors.
